We finally moved! It definitely isn't under the circumstances we had hoped for but hopefully it is progress in the right direction towards our goal. After 2 years of trying to sell we feel this is the best decision for our family.
We rented out our house which really scares us. It is hard to let someone we don't know move into our house we love and spent so much time remodeling, caring for and spending 5 years in (having both our children there).
BUT we have not been happy there for a while. The neighborhood has gone down hill (or we just noticed with Cole getting older). I don't feel comfortable being outside or late/early in the mornings being alone when Kevin is at work. Cole really is to the age that he wants and needs friends but he can't even talk to half of them because they don't speak english or I don't want him too cause they say bad words.
We also don't like the ward. We were stuck in primary and that is where we stayed. Ward members constantly asked us if we were new or visiting years after being there. I knew who many of these people were. When we spoke to the bishop he said it was because we lived on the street we lived on. People in the ward did not want to get to know anyone from that street because it is mainly rental properties. They don't like to get to know people and then have them move away so soon. Also he mentioned it is because our street is full of druggies and many other problems.
And lastly, we just don't fit there anymore! Three children sharing one room and no storage would be hard.
We were extremely busy trying to get everything packed and the house clean. The renters kept bothering us saying they needed to move in sooner and sooner. I was trying to please them and kept agreeing. At one point they even showed up at our house with a full moving truck begging to move into the garage. Kevin had to work a ton that week. Everyone else seemed to have a ton going on at the same time too! Being pregnant and 2 little ones running around made it a bit of a challenge. Luckily I got a bit of help. Kenzie and Kellie came one day. Katie came quite a few days. Denice and her girls came one day. And thankfully Grace came a lot and let us use her truck. Thank you everyone for your help.
So we are now living at my parents and will hopefully be able to move out into our dream house soon!
