kevins birthday and dee's game

For Kevin's birthday he wanted to spend more time with his family, especially since Brad's family just arrived from Arkansas. We went to lunch with all those who could make it and then hung out at his mom's until we went to Dee's game!

we will miss you dad

Keith LaMont Hansen 1938 ~ 2009 Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend passed away at home on October 12, 2009 after a difficult struggle with pulmonary fibrosis.Keith adored his wife and their seven children. His biggest regret was that his illness would take him away from his fairy tale life with all of them. He took great pleasure in camping and hunting as well as watching his sons and grandsons play football. He had a dry sense of humor and a love of knowledge. Keith was born on March 4, 1938 in Ephriam, Utah to Neldon Andrew and Anita Beth Hansen. He moved to the big city of Salt Lake when he was 18. He married the love of his life Grace Laura Dansie on April 12, 1963 in the Manti Temple. Keith worked for 17 years at the State of Utah Engineer's Office. During his career with the state and with the support of his wife he attended school at Utah State University where he majored in geology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Keith then went on to become the Property and Water Rights Manager for Kennecott Copper Corporation where he worked for 23 years until his retirement 13 years ago. He also worked tirelessly for the North Jordan Irrigation Company for 21 years. He donated countless hours and many years teaching boy scouts life saving survival skills in addition to faithfully serving his church for 13 years as the financial and membership clerk. Keith is survived by his wife Grace; his children Lisa (Mitch) Giles, Denice (Brian) Hyer, Pam (Mike) Borman, Scott (Joann) Hansen, Brad (Katty) Hansen, Mark (Jennifer) Hansen and Kevin (Julie) Hansen; 15 grandchildren (with two on the way); one great grandchild; his sister Patricia (Kimball) Larsen, brother Ronald Hansen; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law Clarence Edgar and Grace Jones Dansie. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Wesley Road Chapel (5290 South 1120 East, Murray) with a viewing one hour prior to services. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary (5850 S. 900 E., Murray). Interment will be at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street.
It is strange how in one second life can change forever. One phone call sent us into a panic rush to the hospital on Monday the 12th. It happened too fast, no one was ready or prepared for Keith to leave yet. Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering we still wish we were able to have a little more time. Kevin's dad was such a great man. I know that he will be missed dearly by everyone. It is hard for kevin and I to think of life without him. It has been a very long and difficult week for us. The viewing and funeral were so nice. One of the things I will miss most about Keith is the way he would get so cross at someone in front of me and then turn and give me a wink. We love you and will miss you every day!

our 4th anniversary

On September 1 Kevin and I celebrated our 4th anniversary! We decided to go up to Strawberry and stay at Daniels Summit for a night. I couldn't imagine going 4-wheeling and leaving Cole out cause he loves it, so we brought him! I was super tired due to my morning sickness medication and being pregnant. Poor Kevin and Cole, I just wanted to sleep the whole time.

Kevin and Cole relaxing on our balcony

We enjoyed walking around the lodge, and of course buzz had to go on our walks too!

The best part, 4-wheeling! Cole loved wearing his helmet too, I was afraid he would want to take it off.

The next night we took Cole to Jamie and Marks for a sleepover (thanks so much!)
Lisa, Kevin's sister got us an AWESOME room up at snowbird with an amazing view (THANK YOU) Here is Kevin in our room looking at the mountains.

Our see-through shower (crazy...)

We went to lunch up there at this yummy Mexican restaurant

We were then able to ride the tram up to the top of the resort, what a view!

Salt Lake is behind Kevin

Thank you honey for an awesome 4 years, I look forward to each and everyone in the future. I just want you to know that I LOVE you more then anything and think you are the greatest husband and father ever!

hill air force base

Cole and I have the best job in the world! Mainly we get to hang out with my parents three times a week. A few weeks ago we had a delivery up in Logan. On our way home we stopped at a "Diner's Drive and Dive" to eat. This has become one of my parents new hobbies. It just so happened to be across the freeway from Hill Air Force Base. Cole loves planes and helicopters, so of course grandma and grandpa stopped so we could look around. For an hour Cole was in heaven running from plane to plane! If you get a chance stop there, it was really neat to see the different planes throughout the years and to see the outfits they wore. Thanks for the good time grandma and grandpa!

pirates

My parents had a big sleepover party for the grand kids this summer! It was pirate themed, I don't know too many details because we were ushered out as soon as we got there! It was for the kids only. I do know they went on a scavenger hunt, fought a pirate, became pirates themselves, ate lots of food, had a fire and most of all had the time of their lives! For days Cole would not take off his hat and necklaces or put his sword down. Thanks mom and dad.

all our recipes blog

I started a recipe blog for my family! Mainly it is our fun ideas we have found or come up with or our commonly used recipes. I got tired of constantly calling someone to ask for a recipe and didn't want to search through my recipe boxes so I started this! Check it out if you get a minute and hopefully you will find some fun new recipes for yourself! allourrecipesblog.blogspot.com

what do you think?

I have put a poll on our blog so everyone can take a guess of what they think baby #2 will be! I am so looking forward to knowing whether Cole will have a brother to wrestle instead of his girl cousins or a little sister to torture. We don't have our BIG ultra sound until October 29. So make your guess....

If you'd like also post a comment of your guess, it would be fun to see who guesses what!
