moab part two

Saturday on our way back to the hotel from the race the OTHER trailer tire popped! I know, I know, we should of got new tires before now but we were so busy and had forgot about it. It was just Kevin, Katie, Cole, Hallie and I now.

After Kevin struggled to get the tire off and trailer unhitched from the truck (because we had already used the spare) we raced into Moab hoping somewhere was still open being that it was 5:30 on Saturday night.

Of course all the tire shops were closed. We were really upset because that meant two things, we had to leave the bikes out in the middle of no where over night (so Kevin was going to sleep out there with them) and if no one was open on Sunday we were not going to be able to go riding at all the rest of the trip.

Kevin decided to try and stop at a Yamaha dealership that was open just to see if by chance they could help. Lucky for us the manager there took pity on us and let us borrow one of her trailer tires and it fit! We were sooo grateful.

Kevin got up early Sunday (which was Father's Day, poor guy) and returned the tire and luckily found a shop open and we got new tires!

Cole really loves taking pictures like his mom, he even takes them of himself! haha

We went to dinner at Zak's pizza and liked it so much we went again for lunch the next day.

We all loved riding and had a great time. Moab is such an amazing place to ride, there is so much to see

Of course we enjoyed more swimming...

All of us agreed our favorite ride was our night ride. It was cool out and still so pretty.

And one last ride on our way home to Uranium Arch

Cole's head was soaked with sweat when we were done from his helmet

On our way home Kevin was so sad that he wasn't going to be able to change one of our tires he noticed someone else tire, had them pull over and helped fix theirs!

Overall we had a great vacation and so much fun with everyone who came! It is so nice to get away...

moab part one

Kevin and I decided for our family vacation we would go to Moab! It just so happened there was also a race in Monticello the same weekend we wanted to go. So we loaded up the 4 wheeler (and 2 of Scott's), the dirt bike, our whole house for the kids and our 2 nannies (katie and kenzie).

Kevin and I also invited our families to join us. Denice and 3 of her girls (Sydney, Gretchen and Julia) and Grace accepted our offer! Cole LOVED every second of this, he even rode in their car.

Last minute Larissa, Dee and 2 of their friends (Christian and Shelley) decided to come also. They ended up sleeping on our hotel room floor, so there was nine of us in our room! Cole slept in the "girrrls" room.

On our way down the trailer tire got shredded. Boy was it fun for Kevin to change it in that heat.

Our first night there we went on a night hike, here is the group minus Grace who was taking the picture.

Cole was GLUED to Sydney for the whole time they were there. I hardly saw him. (Thank you Sydney, Gretchen and Julia for playing with him so much)

We woke up the next day and headed out to 4 wheel...

Kevin got to go practice on the track that night so we all went swimming!

I decided to try and take Hallie in the pool, which was way too cold, on a big floaty. The second I sat down Hallie started to scream and the floaty broke! Everyone was starring at me or running to help. I fell in the water holding Hallie above my head unaware that I could stand. What a spectacle I made...

and out to dinner at Pasta Jay's, mmmm

and the cool ones (Grace, Denice, Syd, Gretch, Julia, Cole, Hallie and I ) went to get some icecream

Later the older kids (yup I am still considering myself one of the kids) decided to go bowling but the alley closed at 10. So Kevin dragged Moab main street instead.

We stopped on the side of the road and Dee climbed up a huge hill

The next day was RACE DAY!

Denice was everywhere getting some awesome pictures of Kevin, here she is showing them to Cole

I was glad Konan and his family were there to be Kevin's pit crew, I am not so good at it
Showing off his finishers pin

and battle wounds

Kevin was so excited to have "fans" at the race! It was so fun with everyone there, we were sad to see them go home after the race. Thank you to everyone who came!
