grandma and grandpa's 50th anniversary

My grandma and grandpa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 23, 2010 (Their anniversary was January 21)

We threw them a great big party! It was so much fun. I loved helping my mom all week put together the things we were in charge of. I wish I could be a party/wedding planner, that would so be my dream job!

Here is the invite my Aunt Marcy did, I thought they looked great!

For the tables we did flowers and pictures of grandma and grandpa from all different time periods together. We also tried to use flowers as close to what they had at their wedding

We filled the whole place with pictures and had quite a few of them blown up. There were also pages for people to write memories or congrats on for a book Jamie put together

Here is the cake table! My parents and I worked on the cake for two days. I know you think what is wrong with you, 2 days for a cake but seriously have you ever tried to make a multi layer wedding cake? It is alot more work then I ever imagined. I have to give props to Kellie for all the crazy cakes she makes for everyone (you can see some of them here) My dad ended up saving the day and did an awesome job on figuring out how to smooth the frosting perfectly and place the flowers. The cake turned out looking alot like their original, we even had their wedding topper and pieces for in between.
My parents also found an 8mm tape from my grandparents wedding that they had turned into a dvd with music to it!

Aunt Julie put together a program with an awesome video of grandma and grandpa that had pics and an interview with them. After they read memories of all the children and grandchildren. This is Thomas telling grandma and grandpa his memories that he didn't feel were appropriate for the whole group!
