my projects...

SEW, for Christmas Kev gave me an awesome sewing machine! I have absolutely loved trying to figure out how to work it and use all its stitches. Since the middle of January I have made 8 blankets and 5 burp clothes.

My first blanket was this rag quilt for baby David

I next made our baby girl this star self binding receiving blanket and one just like it but in blues for baby David

The next two are quilts that I sewed and tied

Of course Cole had to have a blanket too! He picked out the "Mater" material himself and LOVES his new blanket

This is a rag quilt that is strips instead of blocks. There are a few sizes of strips. The bigger ones I sewed a stitch down the middle to help the material hold. Mainly it shows through on the back side.

This is the stitch. Let me tell you my machine has over 60 stitches. Intricate stitches like this take time. To do one piece all the way across took me an hour and a half. Needless to say the blanket only has three strips with this pretty stitch.
And this rag quilt was the first one I started but last to finish. I had a material in my mind to use instead of the dots. The fabric store I was getting it from was out. They kept telling me they get it in all the time so to check back. Well they have three stores; one in Provo, Sandy and Murray. At least twice a week I went to these stores for 2 and a half months. They never got it in. So on Tuesday of this week I picked out the dots and finished it!

And lastly I also made this cute tutu for our little girl to get pictures in!
